New SOTBMusic: Verze Drops Verze Vol. 2

The EP is the way to go for many artists these days. People want quick hits of music more and more and long-form albums, while still appreciated, don't always find their ways onto playlists in their entirety. It's not a bad thing, just a sign of the ever-changing way we consume music. In fact, I'd argue that some EPs make you want more of an artist (see Big K.R.I.T.'s recently-released EPs, Meek's EP from earlier this year, Drake's Scary Hours two-track "EP," and others for examples) and thus draw you into their work even more than dissecting an hour-long project. Thus is the case of Verze's Verze, Vol. 2 EP. The Owings Mills native's newest project is brief. What it lacks in length, it makes up in its punch. Vol. 2 is the most-focused I've heard Verze in a minute, opting to go off the beaten path of what makes his music warrant a listen and craft a whole new sound, a "new wave." 2019 is shaping up to be a big year for Verze, considering that he's been pulling consistent streaming numbers in 2018. He's an artist to watch because he's consistent, and he consistently showcases his talent. Check out the project below and remember to support dope music in all its forms.
