New SOTBMusic: Taylor Bennett Wants You to Be Yourself

Taylor Bennett strives to break free of the shadow of being known to some as just "Chance's sexually liberated brother" on Be Yourself. And, for the most part, he does. He sounds a lot like Chance, which is kind of unavoidable; they're brothers, after all. However, he gives us his peace and tells us to either love him or leave him alone. It's straight-up "I'm here, I'm who I am, accept it or get the eff out the way." That humble brashness is dope to me and I'm always about accepting oneself as greatness.

Musically, I really like the project, but I don't love it. It gives me a lot of Acid Rap vibes in its openness. For me, however, that was Chance's weakest project of his collection. I was never the hugest fan it, for better or worse. The bars are crisp and the production is great, but it's just something about the way the message is actually delivered that keeps me from completely loving it. But, if you're looking for something that promotes self-love and self-acceptance, this is definitely a great project to look into. Check it out below and remember to support dope music in all its forms.
