New SOTBMusic: @VinceStaples - Big Fish Theory

From a release that celebrates the vibe of it all to a project that has more of a well-rounded concept, we're given Vince Staples' second album, Big Fish Theory. There's not much I can say other than this is a great, mostly concept-based project and deserves all the adulation and praise it'll, no doubt, receive. It's an expansive project that speaks on a lot of issues in the hip-hop and music community and will probably scare a few folks because it delves into areas that aren't as accepted by hip-hop (and Vince masters them pretty well, from where I'm standing).

The production is great and Vince, as always, delivers with the bars. However, what separates it from, say, DAMN. is that some may say it's not as over-the-top in terms of symbolism and the like. I don't know whether or not that's true, because there is a lot of subject matter to get into on this project. All I know is that the album is friggin' legit, lyrical and party-friendly at the same time, and should make a ton of moves. It, literally, is what it is. Regardless of that, remember to support dope music in all its forms.
