New (To Me) SOTBMusic: @EdSheeran - "Shape of You"

Now, those who know me know that I'm not just a hip-hop and R&B head. Some of my favorite songs fall into neither of those (somewhat archaic in definition) genres. Because of that, in 2017, I swear I'm going to post more genres outside of hip-hop and R&B. So, one of the first tracks that isn't in those parameters that caught my ears was Ed Sheeran's "Shape of You." I know the track is a few days old, but it's unlike anything I've heard from the Brit artist. It's playful, incredibly sexy even, but still on that "real" tip that brought fans into Sheeran's space when he first hit the scene. Sonically, it kind of reminds me of that Maroon 5 song with Kendrick if it was a bit...sweeter mixed in with some "Cheap Thrills" (God, that song never gets old). Overall, if you're looking to expand your palette this year (hopefully I can help you with that), check it out and be on the lookout for Sheeran's new project if you're liking what you've heard thus far.
