Portland rapper Mat Randol teams up with certified Gold producer of A$AP Ferg's "Shabba" record, producer Snugsworth for their first collaborative EP, Libero. Deriving from the Italian word meaning "free," Libero is entirely produced by Snugsworth and comprised of six tracks that raise awareness of present issues in the world, conquering war with ones self, and coming to terms with both combined.
Mat bounces around between topics such as police brutality, the duality of life (seems to be a nice recurring theme in 2016 music), smoke sessions, existentialism and mental health. I'm a fan of his effortless flow and rhyme scheme set-ups, as they both remind me a bit of folks like Nas. Add that into Snugsworth's eclectic production style and you've got a project that's definitely worth a listen.
