Anthony Davis, or "The Unibrow that [Maybe] Saved Nawlins"

::cues up non-existent SPEED-SPN theme song::

So, in search of some news about the NBA not related to Anthony Davis, I find something about...Anthony Davis.

Not to be a dick, but he looks like a woman in this photo. A very, very, very ugly woman, but a woman nonetheless.

Sez ABC News:

"In anticipation of his imminent rise to national stardom, Davis trademarked the phrases "Raise the Brow" and "Fear the Brow." Widely expected to be drafted by the New Orleans Hornets in Thursday's draft, Davis said he saw profit potential in leaving his eyebrows connected."
I haven't seen an eyebrow get that much publicity since, well...
Yes, Dwayne, I do, in fact, smell what you're cooking. I just hope it's a(nother) return to WWE to end this Cena fail fest.
But, what happens if Anthony becomes the next Sam Bowie, Greg Oden, or even Michael Olowokandi (whose ex is more "famous" than he'll probably ever be)? I'm sure the Unibrow paraphernalia will still sell like crazy, in a mocking, "Y U No"-type of way, so he'll probably be able to live comfortably for a while. But, the hoopla will be for naught, and we'd look at him funny (even though, to his credit, the draft pool this year kind of sucks).

All in all, I think that Anthony will be halfway successful in "The League," but it won't be an overnight thing. He's not built like Durant, James, and others that either went "one and done" or "graduated high school straight into the pros" that had almost immediate success. He's a lanky kid that's still growing that may be the next Garnett. He may not. His success, to me, isn't as cut-and-dry as some people would make it out to be. COULD he be the guy that saves the Hornets from being sheer sucktastical in the future? I mean, they are only a year or so removed from being one of the best teams in the league. But, Chris Paul, current Clipper, was the lynchpin of the team. Get rid of the double threat (assists/scoring) and replace with a guy who's unproven on the NBA level and surround him with other talent somewhat unproven on the NBA level (yes, that does include Greivis Vasquez, as well) and you may have a clusterfuck on your hands.

Only time will tell, I guess.
